The challenge

  • Visit the ISIS Children’s Foundation projects throughout the challenge
  • Trek in the Humla region of the Nepalese Himalaya's
  • Enjoy breathtaking mountain scenery
  • Experience ethnic Tibetan villages clustered around local Gompas
  • Explore fascinating Kathmandu

Take part in this spectacular trek in the Nepali Himalayas in aid The ISIS Foundation and Kathmandu Kids Club.  The key purpose of the foundation in Nepal is to help Nepalese children by easing their plight, in a country ravaged by poverty and overcoming the effects of a very recent civil war.

Thousands of Himalayan children have been forced by civil war from the safety of their parents homes. Many of these children arrive at the capital, in an appalling and desperate state, suffering from malnutrition, disease and shock. Other children, unable to leave the mountains due to poverty or lack of resources, are at serious risk of dying from easily preventable diseases.

Containing nine of the world's fourteen highest mountain peaks, Nepal is a true Himalayan kingdom.  The Himalayas cover three quarters of the land in Nepal.  It is home to some of the highest, most remote, most rugged and most difficult terrain in the world.  The loftiest peak in the world, Mount Everest and other high peaks like Lhotse, Nuptse, Annapurna, Dhaulagiri and Manaslu, plus the presence of some exquisitely beautiful trekking routes, make this the most spectacular place for your challenge.  What better way to make a difference to those at the Kathmandu Kids Club.

Your end goal is to reach Jomsom, the largest town in the region.

Finally you will take a scenic flight back to Pokhara and then on to Kathmandu with superb views of the Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, Annapurna and Manaslu mountains.
