This unique expedition combines awesome Himalayan trekking with a visit to India’s exiled Tibetan community. The challenge begins and ends in Dharamsala, where the Dalai Lama and the centre of the Tibetan Community are situated, at the heart of the world’s highest mountain range.
Your two week expedition follows the Uhl River, through rhododendron and evergreen forests. The route takes in Hindu settlements and isolated Buddhist monasteries. The region remains largely unvisited, which makes it a pristine and unspoilt area to trek.
You spend a night beside nomadic shepherd encampments, and another in the Taragarh Palace, home to Maharajas for centuries.
You can extend your stay and explore the Taj Mahal - one of the greatest monuments to love ever built. You will also visit Keoladeo National Park and Fatephur Sikri.

Small Group Supplement Explained |
Please note that the costs and sponsorship levels listed on our website are based on a minimum of 16 participants on the challenge. We can run this trip with groups of 10-15 people, but there will be a small group supplement of £75. This is payable by your charity if you book under the minimum sponsorship or flexi options, and by yourself if you are a self-funder. If a small group supplement is necessary, we will notify you 12 weeks before departure. |

Payment Explained |
There are a number of ways in which you can fund the challenge. Below are the options available: self funderThe full cost of this challenge is £1,870 which includes a £100 donation to your nominated charity. You will be required to pay the deposit of £445 and insurance premium* of £85 at the time of booking and the final balance of £1,425 which is due eight weeks before departure (25/01/2014). You will receive fundraising advice and sponsorship forms and be asked to raise as much as you can for the charity. As you have covered the full cost of the challenge, 100% of this fundraising will be retained by the charity. minimum sponsorshipYou will be required to pay the deposit of £445 and insurance premium* of £85 at the time of booking, and pledge to raise a minimum amount of sponsorship, £2,945 for your nominated charity. You will need to send your sponsorship money to the charity as you raise it. Fundraising Support |

Deposit instalments Explained |
The first instalment is due at the time of booking. The second instalment will automatically be debited from your credit/debit card 31 days after you book. We can only accept payment for your deposit by instalments if you book and pay online. You are unable to pay your deposit by instalments for manual bookings or if you wish to pay for the first deposit over the phone. If you send in a manual form opting to pay your deposit by instalments, your booking will not be accepted. |
