This High Atlas Winter Trek offers a tough but rewarding challenge combining the stunning winter alpine scenery with the splendour and riot of colours that Morocco offers.
Morocco is a country full of romantic mystique and mythology that is as diverse and incredible as the landscape you will be trekking through. In the midst of it all lies the dramatic High Atlas mountain range where one of the tallest peaks in North Africa resides – Jebel Toubkal.
You will be trekking through the western High Atlas range known as the Toubkal Massif with a range of peaks over 3900m. You will trek two of these highest points on this challenge which offers stunning vistas over the whole massif.
Trekking for between 4 to 8 hours, it will be strenuous but rewarding as you trek through snow scattered peaks and remote Berber villages. A good degree of fitness will be required and although the climb is not technical, crampons and ice axes may be needed for which you will get full training.
This invigorating trek finishes in Marrakech where you can relax and experience the vibrancy of the local souk’s and the people.
