More than a rehoming centre, Mayhew delivers a wide range of community based programmes focusing on preventative work, education and support to improve animal welfare both in the UK and overseas. Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors Without Borders (MSF) is an independent international medical humanitarian organisation that delivers emergency aid in more than 70 countries to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, natural or man-made disasters or exclusion from healthcare. MSF combines the provision of emergency medical care with a commitment to speaking out about the suffering people endure and the obstacles encountered in providing assistance. MenWalkTalk aims to reduce the stigma around men’s mental health and encourage men to talk openly about their issues. Men often avoid seeking support, and MenWalkTalk want to change this. MenWalkTalk facilitate walking groups for men aged 18+, creating safe spaces where they can speak freely and benefit from peer support. Our walks are led by fully trained volunteers, and offer an alternative, accessible way that men can seek support, as and when they want to, in a low-pressure environment.

The Michael Sobell Hospice charity (formerly the Friends of Michael Sobell House) is dedicated to supporting the work of Michael Sobell Hospice, providing specialised end of life care and support to local people, their families, friends and carers. Michael Sobell Hospice is run by East and North Hertfordshire NHS and jointly funded by the NHS and the Michael Sobell Hospice Charity. This year, the charity has to raise over £1.6 million to ensure vital services are maintained, around 40% of the overall running costs. The Midlands Air Ambulance Charity (MAAC)is responsible for funding and operating three air ambulances serving the communities of Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Worcestershire and the West Midlands. This constitutes the largest air ambulance operating region in the UK. What is not widely known is that Midlands Air Ambulance Charity receives no government or National lottery funding.
