Your challenge day by day

Day 1, Sat 12 May 2018

Day 1: Challenge Day!

You will receive a warm welcome from the JDRF team when you arrive at the registration point. Shortly after meeting your trek leaders and your fellow trekkers, your trek leader will run through a full safety briefing and then it will be time to begin!

Following the country lanes, you will begin a long and slow ascent on to the ridgeline of the Brecons. It's a good footpath but one that is slightly less well hiked compared to the main route of the traditional Brecons Ways. Once the ridgeline is reached, the route follows the Brecons Way to the summit of Pen Y Fan (886m).

You will then branch down along the forest tracks around the Talybont reservoir, before returning to the village hall for a celebratory glass of fizz and your well-earned medal!
