The challenge

  • High altitude extreme mountain biking
  • Cover six famous Himalayan passes(including Tangling La 5,440m)
  • Ten day extreme cycling challenge over the roof of the world
  • Witness ancient villages with a lifestyle unchanged for centuries.

Isolated for many months of the year by snow, Ladakh remains one of the best places to experience the unique culture of the high Himalaya.  With its snow covered peaks, remote villages, and ancient Buddhist monasteries – Ladakh transports you to another world!

An amazing journey from Manali to Leh or ‘Little Tibet’ as it is known, takes in many of the highest road passes in the world.  The peak of Stok Kangri stands out in the mountains as it turns from crimson to sparkling white on the skyline of Leh as you finish the ride in this interesting high mountain town. You will travel over six famous passes, including Tanglang La (5,440m/17,850ft), the highest road in the world.

This classic journey offers exposure to a tremendous variety of landscape and culture. A mountain bike can take you to more remote locations than most other modes of transport, and in the Indian Himalayas the word 'remote' takes on a whole new meaning. If you are looking for the experience of challenging climbvs, and some of teh best downhill on this planet, this trip is a must.

This cycle Challenge is extreme. You will be at altitude so significant training wil be required, however, the rewards are fantastic!
