Kyrgyzstan has a rich and varied history preserved by its own geography as it is landlocked and surrounded by mountains. Gaining independence in 1991 after the breakup of the Soviet Union, Kyrgyzstan is relatively unexplored but is opening up to the world to become a great trekking destination. The five-day self-supported (carry own pack) trek will you see explore the natural beauty of the Issyk Kul region; mountain passes; and lush green valleys with incredible vistas whilst camping in steep-sided gorges. You’ll even get to rest your weary legs in the sulphuric hot springs of Altyn Arashan at the end of your trek before heading back to Bishkek, the capital city.
