All you need to know

The challenge

  • Ascend the ridgeline and summit Pen Y Fan (886m)
  • Explore country lanes and forest tracks
  • Hike along the Brecons Way
  • A fantastic adventure in the heart of Wales

This one-day challenge is an adventurous way to explore the breathtaking beauty of the Brecon Beacons' National Park. Ascending the ridgeway up on to the Brecons Way, this route is slightly less well walked compared to the main hiking route in the area - providing you with a great chance to wander amongst the mountain range.

After summiting Pen Y Fan, the highest point in the National Park, you will branch down the forest tracks around the Talybont reservoir before returning to the village hall in Talybont-on-Usk, where you will cross the finish line and celebrate your achievement!
