REACT is a humanitarian rapid response charity. Our volunteer Response Teams rapidly deploy to humanitarian emergencies in the UK and internationally — helping to save lives and alleviate suffering. We specialise in high tempo, dynamic, complex crises; providing assistance for the hardest to reach, most vulnerable communities. REACT volunteer Responders are highly trained, committed humanitarians. Many come from the military and emergency services, with years of specialist training and operational experience under the most extreme and challenging conditions. Others are simply people with a burning desire to make a meaningful difference. We put them through rigorous humanitarian training, producing some of the finest crisis response teams in the world, able to assist whenever and wherever they're needed.

With ¼ of the worldwide population still drinking unsafe water, 1001fontaines has developed sustainable solutions to provide lifetime access to safe water to the most vulnerable in South-East Asia and Madagascar, including its Water in School programme delivering clean water to children at schools.

12 Neighbours Community Inc. is a registered Canadian charity that operates a community of micro homes (permanent housing) to support people experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity. Our vision is to help people who are experiencing poverty and homelessness overcome barriers to a full and independent life. We will achieve this through a development program and a social enterprise program providing low-barrier, progressive employment that will be used for job training, skill development opportunities and creating entrepreneurship opportunities for our vulnerable community members.

1st Old Boys Silver Band promotes the playing, understanding and appreciation of brass band music in its various forms. The direct benefit which flows from this purpose is that the cultural lives of the general public of Northern Ireland will be enriched with high quality musical performances. This benefit can be evidenced through the feedback from the general public and audience members who have listened to our performances. This purpose will not lead to any harm and results in no private benefit. We bring together members of the community from all walks of life for a collective musical experience. Our purpose is to provide a facility for any person to play or learn to play a brass or percussion instrument to the best of their abilities and to pass on our knowledge and experience to the next generations of musicians to keep the tradition of brass bands alive in our community. We offer support from a group of volunteers who give their time freely on either a one-to-one basis or as part of a group.

1Voice is a UK-wide organisation for children who have little or no natural speech and who use communcation aids to act as their voice. 1Voice provides a network of information and support for children who use communication aids, and their families. We support families through events, email groups, newsletters and website. We have a strong team of Role Models, adults who use communication aids and who inspire children and families to aim high and achieve their potential.

Abbeyfield is a charity dedicated to alleviating loneliness in old age. Our staff and volunteers make time for older people, giving them choices in how they live and treating everyone with the dignity and respect they deserve. Our houses provide happy places for people to live, and where people from the local community can come in for companionship, meals and support.

Each year 450 children in the UK are diagnosed with brain cancer. Among these there is a tumour so DEADLY there is NO effective treatment or CURE - Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma or DIPG. Responsible for 80% of ALL brain tumour death that occurs in children, we aim to raise vital research funds & give HOPE to DIPG families. A UK family is affected by DIPG every 9 DAYS, they will be told that their child has an average life expectancy of just 9 - 12 MONTHS. This prognosis has remained unchanged for over 50 years, we are already working with the research centres in the UK and worldwide, that are progressing the most innovative research projects to improve the outlook for future families that receive this most devastating diagnosis in all paediatric oncology. Only investment in specific research will bring the change we all wish to see.

We are a group of people from 35 different churches over Aberdeen/Aberdeenshire working together on the streets of Aberdeen. Our aim is to listen, care and help people who are out at the weekend, connecting with this diverse community through simple acts of kindness. We demonstrate God's love by making ourselves available offering practical care and support - eg offering flipflops, walking people to taxis, administer first aid, calming people down when tempers fray. We celebrate with many and have been brought to tears offering support to those who have lost loved ones. We inspire and equip the Christian community to come alongside people and to make a positive influence on our streets and in our churches.

Aberglaslyn Mountain Rescue is a registered charity that operates in North West Wales and Snowdonia. AMRT provides a search and rescue service, not just on the mountains but covering the whole of North West Wales, including urban and rural areas. Thereby providing a service to the whole of the community.

We are the Army’s national charity, here for soldiers, Veterans and their families for life. Since 1944, we’ve been at the forefront of support for the Army family. We are one of the largest funders in the sector, reaching 65,000 people and funding over 66 charities and organisations last year. We are here to support the Army family through life’s challenges - whether that involves bereavement, injury, getting back to work, elderly care, and much more besides. AbScent is a UK charity founded by Chrissi Kelly, inspired by her personal journey of recovery from smell loss. Chrissi suffered anosmia following a virus in 2012. Isolated by her experience and shocked by the lack of information and support, Chrissi sought out answers and is determined that no-one should suffer as she had. Today, AbScent is driving change to end smell disorders. We will fund world-class research to find treatments and a cure and we will share that information to provide the best support and trusted information to anyone affected by anosmia or smell disorders. Supported by a distinguished advisory board, we make a point of only sharing strategies and information based on peer-reviewed scientific evidence. Aching Arms is a baby loss charity run by a group of bereaved mothers who have experienced the pain and emptiness of leaving hospital without their baby. Our aim is to raise awareness of the impact of pregnancy and baby loss and bring some comfort to bereaved parents and their families after the loss of a baby. We provide Aching Arms bears to hospitals for midwives to give out. We also reach out to bereaved families who contact us via our website, email, Facebook or Twitter and post dedicated bears directly.

Acorn is a social enterprise in Jersey providing work and training opportunities for people who have a disability or long-term health condition.

At Acorns Children’s Hospice we offers a network of specialist palliative nursing care and support for local children and their families. We are there wherever and whenever they need us, in the hospice, community and at home. Our services include short breaks for children at our hospices, therapeutic and psychosocial support, support for siblings and other family members, emergency and end of life care and bereavement support. Our care is tailored for each individual child and designed to meet all their clinical, emotional, cultural and spiritual needs. In the past year, we have supported over 750 children and nearly 1,000 families across the West Midlands, including those who have been bereaved.
