Approximately 6000 young people under the age of 24 die in the UK every year, leaving up to 50,000 newly bereaved parents, siblings and grandparents for whom the social, emotional, and financial costs can be enormous. Founded by two bereaved parents themselves, The Good Grief Project’s mission is to address the needs of the bereaved and to promote an understanding of what it means to grieve in a society that has difficulty talking about death, dying and bereavement. We do this by encouraging a creative response to grief. We make films, deliver talks and presentations and run Active Grief Weekends.

The Hardman Trust support people leaving prison to take their next steps in life. The only charity working specifically with people leaving prison after long sentences, we provide the support, training and tools required to find and sustain employment on release.

The Haven is a charity that supports women and their children vulnerable to domestic abuse and homelessness through a range of wrap-around support. Many women are forced to flee their homes at a moment’s notice for their own safety; this can be incredibly traumatising and distressing for both women and children and so The Haven is there as a beacon of hope, ensuring no woman is alone and that she can access vital support tailored to her and her children’s needs. The services The Haven offer give women and children somewhere safe, warm and welcoming where they can come to terms with the trauma they have experienced, and develop the skills and confidence to take the next step on their journey away from abuse, towards a better future. The Haven have a range of communal refuges and dispersed safe housing that support 77 women and 100 children at any one time. They also provide a range of other practical and emotional support services including a community outreach team that works with an additional 200 families, a 24-hour staffed helpline, a live chat facility, criminal justice support, counselling, dedicated children’s services, benefits advice, debt relief support, and resettlement programmes. Every service offered is vital and helps women and children to recover, rebuild broken bonds between one another and to rebuild their lives free from the trauma of abuse.

The Hospice of St Francis provides professional support and care for people with terminal illness in West Hertfordshire and the Chiltern area of Bucks. We provide a free service that gives total care to patients and their families and friends, including Inpatient beds, community nurses, and Family Support Services. .

We work with hovercraft in Madagascar, using our hovercraft to reach the remote communities that live alongside the many river systems to provide them with medical care, AID and resources.

The Hygiene Bank is a grassroots, people powered charity and social movement, grounded in community. Our network of banks exist to ensure those living in poverty and can't afford to be clean, have access to the basics. We believe that everyone should have access to basic hygiene products. The Indee Rose Trust creates the biggest smiles for children diagnosed with brain and spinal cancer aged 1 to 17 years old. We provide bespoke treasure boxes to referred child from Hospitals and Hospices around the Uk and social media. Our treasure boxes are wish list of items and can cost up to £500 + We also provide much needed respite for the child and their families at one of our 2 holiday homes by the sea. A one off family support grant is also available on request. We support families throughout the devastating journey of childhood cancer from diagnosis and beyond.

The J's Hospice has been developed through the drive and vision of the local community to see enhanced care and support for young adults across Essex with life limiting conditions such as cancer and a wide range of complex neurological and metabolic conditions. The J’s provides tailored nursing, respite and end of life care, advice and advocacy, emotional care, bereavement support and a range of activities for the young adult and their family in the comfort and security of their own home. Our aim is to help young adults to live their life to the full, however short.

The K Woods Foundation is a Wirral based Registered Charity, who provide support to individuals living with dementia, and their carers, within the community. At present this is by provision of a free to attend activity and engagement drop-in centre, which is hosted once per month at Upton Victory Hall. This is planned to increase in demand and hope to increase to sessions running a minimum of once per week.

The Friends of Teddington Memorial Hospital is an essential part of the community supporting the staff and patients of Teddington Memorial Hospital by enabling and enhancing the quality and quality of the provision of medical services, facilities and general improvements above the NHS-funded baseline, ensuring the long-term future of the hospital.

Friends of Burnham-on-Sea War Memorial Hospital, located in the heart of Burnham-on-Sea, is a charitable foundation dedicated to helping those in need. With the dedication of our volunteers, staff members, and partners, we strive to improve the lives of everyone who needs help within the community. ​ The Friends have raised from events, donations and legacies, more than £2,000,000 since 1966. This has been spent on a variety of equipment, as well as the fabric of the hospital. Some of the major projects include the building of the conservatory, the purchase and refurbishment of the Peter Holmes Annexe and the provision of a state of the art Ophthalmic Suite. The Hospital is equipped with the most modern and up to date electronic beds and mattresses funded by the Friends. An extensive refurbishment took place 2009/10 using £310,000 of Friends money and £400,000 from the Trust. The project involved the Friends working closely with the PCT to improve patient privacy, dignity, security and infection control. In addition, the Friends have paid for many items, including patient dining room furniture and awnings above ward windows. Newspapers and maintenance of the gardens are paid for an a regular basis. No reasonable request to the Friends by Consultants or Nursing Staff has ever been turned down. The Hospital is always looking for volunteers to work with patients. The Black Women Rising cancer support project is the flagship programme of The Leanne Pero Foundation, a registered UK charity offering vital help, information and practical advice for people of colour who have been diagnosed with cancer.

Lewy body dementia is the second most common cause of age-related dementia, affecting around 130,000 people in the UK. We raise awareness of the disease, provide information to patients and carers, and fund research so that in future it can be more easily diagnosed and treated.
