WE CURRENTLY WORK WITH OVER 2000 UK AND IRISH REGISTERED CHARITIES.

Some of our challenges are exclusively in aid of one particular charity, but where you see the words “in aid of any charity”, you can raise funds for any cause that you feel passionate about, as long as they are a UK or Irish registered charity, and they authorise you to fundraise in their name. We will help get the authorisation for you to fundraise, so choose from one of the many charities on our database, or if you don’t find them listed, you can give us some contact details when you book and we’ll get in touch with them and get them listed on the site.

Who is Adara? The Adara Group has two quite different parts, but one united purpose – to support people in poverty. The first part is an international development organisation, made up of non-profit companies and trusts in six countries, called Adara Development. The second part is two Australia-based corporate advisory businesses, Adara Advisors and Adara Partners. The Adara businesses are “for purpose” rather than for profit. Their sole objective is to fund Adara Development’s administration and emergency project costs. This allows 100% of all other donations received by Adara Development to go directly to project-related costs. Adara is focused on improving health and education for women, children and communities living in poverty. We are experts in maternal, neonatal and child health; and remote community development. We reach tens of thousands of people living in poverty each year. Our work has two pillars – best practice service, and knowledge sharing. The purpose of the Adara Group is to: 1. Work side by side with women, children and communities living in poverty to improve their lives 2. Change the way people think about the role of business in the world and the power of business/non-profit partnerships.

Trek
Charity Trek to Machu Picchu in Peru through the Lares Valley

Trek to Machu Picchu

Our first taste of the Inca world will be in and around Cusco, the ancient Inca capital. After acclimatising to the high altitude, we will head towards the remote and rarely visited Lares Valley. This great alternative to the busy Inca Trail is well off the beaten track and offers trekkers a unique view of the diverse surroundings and traditional Peruvian cultures. The region is also home to the Baños Del Inca, probably the best hot springs in southern Peru. Wander through the clouds to discover the lost city of Machu Picchu. Situated above the Sacred Valley at 2,430m, this ancient Inca city was abandoned during the Spanish Conquest. The ruins have since been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site and new wonder of the world.
