Some of our challenges are exclusively in aid of one particular charity, but where you see the words “in aid of any charity”, you can raise funds for any cause that you feel passionate about, as long as they are a UK or Irish registered charity, and they authorise you to fundraise in their name. We will help get the authorisation for you to fundraise, so choose from one of the many charities on our database, or if you don’t find them listed, you can give us some contact details when you book and we’ll get in touch with them and get them listed on the site.

From before they are born until they are into their twenties, we help disadvantaged children across the UK. We do it through practical services and programmes that are proven to work. We help children through fostering or adoption. We intervene early to stop neglect and abuse. We make life better for disabled children. We influence policy and advocate for change. Nearly 7,000 staff and volunteers run over 600 services, from family centres to intensive support services, youth work to residential care homes. Together, we make a difference to the lives of 390,000 children, young people and families every year. From our origins running children’s homes, we have spent over a century working on the front line, developing services that set a lead for others to follow. We work in partnership with other charities, local authorities and health services, and are supported by a broad range of donors, campaigners, experts and specialists. Our work depends on public support. We earn it by showing how every single thing we do makes a difference. Wherever we work all do what’s right, do what’s needed and do what works for children in the UK.

Activity Alliance brings organisations and disabled people together to make active lives possible. Established in September 1998, the national charity looks to a future where everyone can achieve more through increased opportunities and choice. We work with so many amazing people and are proud to be at the centre of influential world-renowned programmes for disabled people. Our vision is that disabled people are active for life, but the stark reality is that disabled people in England are twice as likely as non-disabled people to be inactive. Every day, our team enables regional and national organisations to engage more disabled people in sport and active recreation. With your support we can continue to challenge perceptions and change the reality of disability, inclusion and sport for disabled people.

Who is Adara? The Adara Group has two quite different parts, but one united purpose – to support people in poverty. The first part is an international development organisation, made up of non-profit companies and trusts in six countries, called Adara Development. The second part is two Australia-based corporate advisory businesses, Adara Advisors and Adara Partners. The Adara businesses are “for purpose” rather than for profit. Their sole objective is to fund Adara Development’s administration and emergency project costs. This allows 100% of all other donations received by Adara Development to go directly to project-related costs. Adara is focused on improving health and education for women, children and communities living in poverty. We are experts in maternal, neonatal and child health; and remote community development. We reach tens of thousands of people living in poverty each year. Our work has two pillars – best practice service, and knowledge sharing. The purpose of the Adara Group is to: 1. Work side by side with women, children and communities living in poverty to improve their lives 2. Change the way people think about the role of business in the world and the power of business/non-profit partnerships.

We work in the challenging but extraordinary landscape of northern Tanzania, from Kilimanjaro to the Kenyan border. Here, ancestral lands are grabbed for luxury wildlife tourism and private game hunting. Here, human rights are routinely violated. Maasai society is one of the most patriarchal societies on earth. In Maasai culture, negative traditional attitudes towards women and girls are inherent and widespread. If you’re a girl born into a traditional Maasai family, you will endure extreme gender inequality at every stage of life. You will undergo female genital mutilation. You will be denied the right to go to school. The right to choose when and whom to marry. The right to use contraception and access healthcare. The right to earn an income and inherit property or land. The right to have a say in decision-making. You will be one of the poorest, most vulnerable and disenfranchised people on earth. Our key areas of focus are women’s economic empowerment; girls’ education; land rights and HIV/AIDS and sexual and reproductive health. We concentrate our efforts on those pastoralists who endure the most dire inequalities; hard-to-reach individuals who are excluded and stigmatised not only by the State but by their own communities. Our work is empowering women and reducing gender inequality in Tanzania.

Age UK is the new force combining Age Concern and Help the Aged We believe that age needs respect. It needs kindness. Sometimes it needs help. Too many people experience difficulties as they age. We cannot promise everyone good health, but we will fight for good care for all of us. Where we find loneliness, we will reach out. When age becomes a burden, we will try to lighten the load. Age UK will campaign. We will fundraise. We will research. We will make the powers that be listen. We will do all this to make life better for older people here and abroad. Age UK is for all of us, because age is a part of life.
