Some of our challenges are exclusively in aid of one particular charity, but where you see the words “in aid of any charity”, you can raise funds for any cause that you feel passionate about, as long as they are a UK or Irish registered charity, and they authorise you to fundraise in their name. We will help get the authorisation for you to fundraise, so choose from one of the many charities on our database, or if you don’t find them listed, you can give us some contact details when you book and we’ll get in touch with them and get them listed on the site.

Arthur Rank Hospice supports people in Cambridgeshire who are living with a life-limiting illness and those who need end-of-life care. Our services are provided free of charge to patients and their families, to help make every moment count. We care for people at the Hospice in Cambridge, the day treatment centre in Wisbech and in patient’s own homes through the Arthur Rank Community team. The support provided by our inpatient unit, day therapy services and Hospice at Home is practical, holistic and tailored to the individual. Programmes may include psychological support, physiotherapy, complementary therapy, occupational therapy, rehabilitative support, counselling, bereavement and spiritual support. Arthur Rank Hospice Charity needs to secure £7.45 million every year to deliver our services free of charge to patients and their loved ones. About half of this currently comes from statutory sources with further funds raised through our Bistro, education services, conference facility and hairdressing salon. The remainder is raised thanks to the wider local community who are motivated to ensure that work of the hospice continues: amongst other things they donate to our shops, take part in our events, take on personal challenges, hold their own fundraisers or leave a gift in their Will. We are constantly looking for new opportunities to sustain funds, so we can keep providing and developing our vital services long into the future. For further information, please visit arhc.org.uk.

Ataxia is a type of neurological condition that affects balance, speech, and co-ordination. Ataxia is progressive, meaning it gets worse with time, until people become entirely dependent on others for all their needs. Over 10,000 people in the UK have ataxia and there is currently no cure. Ataxia UK is the national charity for people affected by ataxia and we provide unique services and support, including a dedicated helpline, Branches and Support Groups, together with closed social media groups, events and conferences where people can meet and share information, a quarterly magazine and monthly e-newsletter, a website with lots of information and a discussion forum, publications, films, and reports. As well as our specialist services, we have spent over £5 million on research since 2000 into possible treatments and cures for ataxia. Our vision is a world without ataxia and, with the help of our brilliant supporters, we are working towards this every day.
