WE CURRENTLY WORK WITH OVER 2000 UK AND IRISH REGISTERED CHARITIES.

Some of our challenges are exclusively in aid of one particular charity, but where you see the words “in aid of any charity”, you can raise funds for any cause that you feel passionate about, as long as they are a UK or Irish registered charity, and they authorise you to fundraise in their name. We will help get the authorisation for you to fundraise, so choose from one of the many charities on our database, or if you don’t find them listed, you can give us some contact details when you book and we’ll get in touch with them and get them listed on the site.

Jurassic Coast Challenge

This tough one day challenge has you trekking 30 kilometres along the South West Coast Path. Whilst the distance alone would make this a tough challenge, the nature of the undulating terrain will have you ascending over 1700m of ascent, greater than climbing to the summit of Ben Nevis, along the dramatic coastline of this UNESCO World Heritage site.

Trigeminal Neuralgia is an extremely severe facial pain that tends to come and go unpredictably in sudden shock-like attacks. The pain is normally triggered, for example by light touch, and is described as stabbing, shooting, excruciating or burning. It usually lasts for a few seconds but there can be many bursts of pain in quick succession. We are the Trigeminal Neuralgia Association UK (TNA UK). We provide information, support and encouragement to those who suffer this excruciatingly painful condition. Our aim is to raise awareness of TN within the medical community and the general public at large.

As a community, we know we have challenges, particularly in engaging with a younger generation so that Jewish life is relevant to them. And with an increasingly hostile anti-Israel atmosphere in the UK, and the parallel rise in anti-Semitism, particularly on campus, young people need to have an even stronger foundation for their self-confidence as Jewish people. UJIA has been the key funder for youth movements, Israel Experience programmes, student programmes, and schools programmes for more than two decades. In all we invest £1.9 million a year in these programmes. We haven’t just voiced the truism that the future of the community depends on its young people – we’ve acted on it.

Using volunteer optometrists, dispensing opticians and assistants, we provide glasses free of charge to 1,800 homeless people each year. Homeless people are particularly disadvantaged when it comes to obtaining sight tests, glasses and eye care. Around two thirds of homeless people cannot get NHS eye tests and glasses. When people are homeless they need glasses to look for work, find accommodation or simply to keep themselves safe. By fundraising for us you will help more homeless people receive the glasses they need.

Since 1995, The Grand Appeal has raised over £31 million to transform the lives of sick babies and children at Bristol Children’s Hospital and the Special Care Baby Unit, providing life-saving equipment, patient activities, new services and family accommodation. Bristol Children’s Hospital is one of the UK’s leading children’s hospitals treating over 100,000 patients every year from across the South West, South Wales and beyond with life-threatening illnesses and serves as the paediatric intensive care centre for the whole South West region. The hospital is an international, national and regional specialist centre of excellence for a range of services including neurosurgery, burns, cardiac, leukaemia and bone marrow transplants. The Grand Appeal provides ground-breaking facilities at the Hospital, including the South of England’s only 3T MRI scanner and intra-operative scanning suite, which has revolutionised the treatment of children with neurological conditions requiring highly complex surgery and a pioneering Cardiac Hybrid Theatre and Integrated Cancer Unit, meaning a sick child can receive all of their treatment in one place. We also fund arts, music and play programmes and facilities at the Hospital, which play a major role in a child’s recovery and rehabilitation. Arts workshops, dedicated music therapy sessions and school activities all provide opportunities for distraction and wellbeing for hospital patients. The Grand Appeal is committed to keeping families together whilst their child is cared for at the Hospital, having funded over £1 million of family facilities and accommodation at Bristol Children’s Hospital and St Michael’s Hospital’s Special Care Baby Unit. We receive no statutory funding and rely entirely on the generous support of the local community, businesses, grant-making trusts and other philanthropic organisations and individuals for support.

War Child is an international child protection agency that works with the most marginalised children – child soldiers, street kids and children in prison War Child believes it is unacceptable that children continue to be victims of war. 66% of people who die in conflict are children. In the last decade alone 1.5 million children have died in wars. Four million have been disabled and a further 10 million traumatised.  We work where other agencies do not, reaching the most at risk children in the most dangerous war zones.
