Animal Protection Services is a registered charity that investigates and prosecutes organised animal cruelty. Our mission is to safeguard animals from commercial exploitation and deliberate acts of cruelty.

From humble beginnings in 1972 Animal Rescue Cumbria has grown and these days is a well-established rescue which takes in and rehomes over 300 dogs, cats and kittens every year. The animals we take in are unwanted or lost and homeless. We provide a secure and caring environment and help all our animals adapt and find permanent, loving new homes. We also provide support and guidance for pet owners and do educational work to increase awareness of the responsibility we all have towards animals and their welfare. We can’t do this without your help! There are lots of ways you can be involved, like rehoming an animal, volunteering your time or making a donation.

Animals Asia promotes compassion and respect for all animals and works to bring about long-term change. We work To end cruelty and restore respect for all animals throughout Asia. To end the farming of bears for bile in Vietnam, work with the Chinese authorities to protect bears and provide sanctuaries for the life-long care of rescued bears in China and Vietnam. We also work to end the suffering of wild animals in captivity, and ensure humane treatment of cats and dogs across Asia. Animals Asia has to date, rescued 700 bears, caring for them at our award-winning bear sanctuaries in China and Vietnam.

Animals in Distress support a wide range of animals from mice to donkeys and shires. We have two sanctuaries. One in Irlam Manchester that deals with wildlife, small animals and does a 24 hr call out. Then another sanctuary in Littleborough that deals with the wildlife, larger and unusual this includes reptiles, large birds horses, and donkeys to name a few. The Irlam branch is always on the go to home animals and the the Littleborough is a retirement home for some animals and a homing branch for others.

Anonymous Child fights the cycle of poverty and inequality by providing support to high-impact local educational projects around the world that enable the most vulnerable group of society – children and young adults – to become a positive driving force within their communities. We envision a world where all children and young people, regardless of their economic background, are given access to high-quality education and care to ensure a fair start in life and set them on the path towards a brighter future.

ARC is the only national charity helping parents and healthcare professionals through antenatal screening and its consequences. ARC offers non-directive individualised information and support to parents who are making decisions around antenatal testing. ARC gives long term support to parents whatever decision is made about the future of their pregnancy through a national helpline, coordinated network of volunteer parent contacts, password-protected internet support forums, face-to-face meetings, regular newsletters and a range of publications for parents and their families.

Every day, we match incredible individuals willing to donate their blood stem cells or bone marrow to people with blood cancer and blood disorders who desperately need lifesaving transplants. It all began in 1974. With her three-year-old son Anthony in urgent need of a bone marrow transplant, Shirley Nolan set up the world’s first register to match donors with people in desperate need. Now, we help four people each day find that lifesaving match.

Ape Action Africa work on the front line of conservation - saving endangered primates from the illegal bushmeat and pet trades. At our Mefou sanctuary we provide rehabilitation and long-term care in a protected environment for orphaned monkeys and apes. We work closely with the Cameroonian people through social support & education programs so that we can be provide long term protection for Cameroon's primates, and keep apes and monkeys in the wild where they belong.

Action on Poverty are a small international charity with a big impact on tackling poverty. We work with local expert partners in Uganda, Sierra Leone, Tanzania and Kenya to provide people living in the harshest poverty with the opportunities they need to earn a living and transform their lives, and we can only do this with the help of supporters like you. Your fundraising efforts will help us work with people who struggle to overcome poverty the most: women, people with disabilities, young people and refugees. You’ll make it possible for us to stop dangerous child labour and return children to school; to train women in business skills and learn a trade, earning an independent income for the first time; to share climate-resilient agricultural skills with refugees, so they can grow vegetables to eat and sell despite climate shocks; and to provide everyone with the opportunity to break the cycle of poverty, for good.

Raising money for breast cancer research projects and donations to services caring and supporting those affected by breast cancer through the sale of art and sculpture

The Arthur Rank Centre, supports rural churches and their wider rural communities. Working together, we confront disadvantage and take social action, tackling hidden poverty, isolation and loneliness, lack of affordable housing, poor transport links and other challenges of living in the countryside.

Arthur Rank Hospice Charity supports people in Cambridgeshire living with an advanced serious illness or other life-limiting condition and those who need end-of-life care. Our ‘Outstanding’ services are provided free of charge to patients and their families. Our aim is to provide the highest quality care, helping them to make every moment count. We care for more than 4,100 patients each year at our Hospice in Cambridge, the Alan Hudson Day Treatment Centre in Wisbech and in patients’ own homes via the Arthur Rank Community Team. This care supports people to improve their quality of life and fulfil their end of life choices. Alongside the care provided by our Inpatient Unit, Living Well services and Hospice at Home teams, patients can access: patient and family support; lymphoedema care; complementary therapy; medical and pain outpatient clinics; and advice from the clinical nurse specialists within the Specialist Palliative Care Home Team. Our programmes are practical, holistic and tailored to the individual patient, family member or carer and may also include rehabilitative support, physiotherapy, occupational therapy and psychological support. It will cost £11.51 million in 2022/2023 to run our services, which are provided free of charge to patients and their loved ones. We have currently secured £7.07 million from the NHS, meaning that £4.44 million needs to be raised through donations, fundraising activities and trading. A4D develops innovative, person-centred arts programmes to re-energise and inspire people in the early stages of dementia and carers, to help them live better for longer at home. Our website uniquely signposts arts events nationwide for people living with dementia; and we provide early stage dementia awareness training at London arts venues for arts facilitators from all over the country. The 500-plus workshop leaders we have trained to date are delivering arts opportunities to well over 10,000 people living with dementia each year. A4D focuses on what people can achieve - often very much more than they imagine.

Ashinaga provides financial support and emotional care to orphaned children worldwide. Every year, more than 8,000 orphaned students receive Ashinaga Scholarships. Over the past 55 years, Ashinaga has helped around 110,000 students gain access to education.

The Association of Carers support unpaid carers in East Sussex. We offer free, volunteer-led services that encourage independence and help reduce social isolation. A Carer is someone of any age who provides unpaid support to family or friends, who could not manage without this help. There are 6 million people in the UK who are family carers (1 in 8 adults). Carers save the economy £119 billion per year.

Ataxia is a type of neurological condition that affects balance, speech, and co-ordination. Ataxia is progressive, meaning it gets worse with time, until people become entirely dependent on others for all their needs. Over 10,000 people in the UK have ataxia and there is currently no cure. Ataxia UK is the national charity for people affected by ataxia and we provide unique services and support, including a dedicated helpline, Branches and Support Groups, together with closed social media groups, events and conferences where people can meet and share information, a quarterly magazine and monthly e-newsletter, a website with lots of information and a discussion forum, publications, films, and reports. As well as our specialist services, we have spent over £5 million on research since 2000 into possible treatments and cures for ataxia. Our vision is a world without ataxia and, with the help of our brilliant supporters, we are working towards this every day.

Atlantic Pacific International Rescue is an NGO dedicated to combating global drowning through the construction and deployment of lifeboats and training individuals in lifesaving techniques.

We provide a listening and spoken language programme, called Auditory Verbal therapy, so that parents and carers can maximise their deaf child’s listening, talking and social skills. We work with families across the UK and train health and education professionals in Auditory Verbal practice around the world through our internationally accredited training programmes. We want all deaf babies and children to have the same opportunities in life as their hearing peers. Our aim is that all families who want their child to learn to listen and talk are able to access an Auditory Verbal therapy programme through publicly funded services over the next 10 years. AVUK’s outcomes are life changing. 80% of all children who spend at least two years on our pre-school programme achieve age-appropriate language. Children are equipped with listening and talking skills, as well as the social skills and confidence to succeed.
