In the UK, 13 babies a day are stillborn or die within the first 28 days of life.For over 41 years, Sands has offered support to parents and families whose lives are devastated by the death of their baby. Today Sands provides sensitive and practical support for over 4,000 families each year.

SARSAS (Somerset and Avon Rape and Sexual Abuse Support) is the local sexual violence mental health charity for Bristol, Bath & North East Somerset, Somerset and South Gloucestershire. We exist to listen, believe, and support anyone who has experienced sexual violence, rape, sexual assault or sexual abuse of any kind at any time in their lives. We offer a variety of different forms of support, including a helpline, e-support, self-help guides, counselling, specialist support work, group work and more.

Save the Family provides caring residential support for vulnerable and homeless families. Our site situated on the outskirts of Chester consists of 26 self-contained family homes; the families we support live in a community environment, staffed 24 hours a day. The families we work with often face an array of challenges, including family breakdown, domestic abuse, addiction, debt, and mental illnesses.We provide a team of skilled Children and Family mentors to engage and support the whole family to work through various challenges that prevent families from living successfully independently. Our purpose is to keep families together where possible and reintegrate them back into a community when they feel equipped and included, ready to carve out a brighter and more sustainable future, with increased aspirations and opportunities. We work alongside partner agencies to ensure a coordinated approach is implemented to support the individual or family's needs and that an appropriate package of support is developed and delivered with a clear action plan in place. Together with our partners we deliver finance workshops, teach life skills, and signpost individuals to support services. Furthermore, while working with individuals that have a history of abusive relationships, our mentors will support the residents through The Gateway Programme. Save the Family is committed to giving each child that engages with our service the maximum opportunities that it can, to ensure that they reach their full potential and that this is achieved in a safe and secure environment. Our Children's Mentors deliver a programme of innovative activities throughout the year for our children. They work alongside the children to provide support and guidance through this extremely difficult time.

Horse rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming

Scannappeal is a Bucks based registered charity dedicated to funding revolutionary medical equipment for our local NHS hospitals. We take great pride in fundraising to provide equipment that the NHS budget alone would not be able to fund. New equipment allows specialist departments to be enhanced, new services introduced, and patients to be cared for close to home. Our fundraising work has benefited every major hospital department across all hospitals in Bucks, and equipment purchased by Scannappeal now benefits 1 in 4 of the local population.

Schoolreaders is a charity which helps to improve children's literacy by providing volunteers to listen to children read in primary schools. 1 in 4 primary school children in England fail to reach the expected standard of reading when leaving primary school. These children are unable to fully access their secondary education, which has lifelong negative consequences. Poor literacy will have a negative impact on children's life chances and limit their future opportunities. Schoolreaders recruits, places and supports volunteers to go into a local primary school to give children one-to-one reading support on a weekly basis. Our unique mapping system underpins our volunteer recruitment and placement process, ensuring children in the most deprived communities are prioritised. Please note, whilst Schoolreaders is happy to support most fundraising events and activities, the charity does not endorse people to take part in dangerous activities such as parachute jumps, sky-diving or bungee jumps, nor are able to recommend companies who undertake such activities.

The Scoliosis Campaign Fund is a joint fundraising venture between the Scoliosis Association (UK) and the British Scoliosis Research Foundation (Reg no 803772). Scoliosis is the abnormal curving and twisting of the spine for which there is corrective treatment but no cure. The two organisations work closely together to improve the lives of those with the condition by providing vital support and funding research.

Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance (SCAA) is the People’s Helicopter – saving and improving lives in every corner of Scotland, 365 days a year. Since the service launched in 2013, the charity has responded to over 1,800 time-critical emergencies. As the country’s only charity-funded air ambulance, SCAA relies entirely on public donations to fuel its life-saving flights that bring help and hope to those suffering serious injury or illness. An integral part of Scotland’s frontline emergency response network, SCAA can reach 90% of Scotland’s population within 25 minutes from its base in Perth, including remote and rural areas that are difficult to access by road, flying expert paramedic care to the scene and providing speedy onward transfer to specialist hospitals. SNAC provides a national support network for children with arthritis and their families through the provision of factual, practical and emotional support. It aims to pull together the wider community of affected children in Scotland as well as raise public awareness of childhood arthritis.

Scottish Women’s Aid is the lead organisation in Scotland working to end domestic abuse. We are both a children's rights and a women's rights organisation. • We directly campaign to institutions and leaders for policies and laws that address the drivers of women’s inequality and improve responses to domestic abuse. This work makes women and children safer and helps them disentangle themselves from their abusers. • We provide training to public and private bodies to educate them on how to effectively respond to survivors, which reduces survivor trauma and increases their safety. • We raise the profile of domestic abuse nationally and internationally so that domestic abuse is treated like the critical threat to human rights that it is. • We host Scotland’s 24-Hour Domestic Abuse and Forced Marriage Helpline to ensure help is always available while actively supporting a network of 33 specialist local Women’s Aid services that directly support and provide refuge and help to women and children affected by domestic abuse

To provide relief from the effects of bereavement to young people who have suffered the loss of a parent who served with the Armed Forces of the Crown. When a parent dies, the impact on their child is significant. When that parent served in the Armed Forces, the impact is even greater with children often feeling they’ve lost their connection to the military community. Scotty’s Little Soldiers prevents that. Together, we can ensure the very best bereavement support remains available.

Sea Cadets gives young people a new perspective. We broaden horizons and create possibilities. Working across the UK with 14,000 young people between 10 and 18, we help them see the world with confidence, gained through the challenge of nautical adventure and a Royal Navy ethos. Our aim is to help more young people to see the future that they want – and make that future happen.
