We are a charity united by our passion to make a difference. We vow to help create change by making better living conditions for our homeless and vulnerable of the North east. We also support those who are financially vulnerable and in danger of homelessness and their families. The support we provide is holistic, person centred through accessing practical none prescriptive projects.

We are an independant mental health charity providing support to people living in Dartford, Gravesham, Swanley and Medway. We support our local community through our housing service, fee-paying counselling, anger managment courses, employment services, money guidance, a selection of wellbeing services and children's and young person's services. Although we are part of National Mind, we are responsible for our own fundraising to ensure our services continue. As a charity, we are supported in our mission by paid staff, trained volunteers, sessional self-employed workers and student social workers on placement.

North of England Children's Cancer Research was set up in 1979 by a group of parents whose lives had been changed forever by childhood cancer. Over £30 million has been raised to help establish a world class team of researchers based in the Wolfson Childhood Cancer Research Centre, Newcastle Upon Tyne. We have come a long way since 1979, with 80% of children diagnosed with cancer now surviving. However, there is still a long way to go. Many childhood cancer treatments are harsh and distressing and cause life altering side effects. We are funding research to find more effective and less toxic treatments to fight childhood cancers and help more children live long, happy lives.

Since 1999, the North West Air Ambulance Charity has had a huge impact on the lives of many across the North West. From accidental injuries to severe medical emergencies, our crew delivers specialist and enhanced pre-hospital care to the most critically ill and injured, and transport patients to the most appropriate hospital to achieve the best outcomes for them. Medical interventions that we provide at the scene of an incident include Rapid Sequence Induction (RSI), administering blood transfusions, analgesia, and many other lifesaving interventions.

We are the only independent cancer research charity fighting the toughest cancers in North West England and North Wales. Our belief is that by working together with our researchers, fundraisers and supporters, we can save more lives sooner. 1 in 2 of us will be touched by cancer at some point in our lives. Cancer is one of the biggest causes of premature adult deaths in the UK. Every year around 350,000 new cases of cancer are diagnosed and more than 160,000 people die from the disease. North West England and North Wales, where we operate, are home to some of the UK’s highest cancer rates. In the North West in particular you are 25% more likely to be diagnosed with cancer than anywhere else in the country. A gap which is unfortunately widening. The good news is that more people are now surviving cancer than ever before. Today, Thanks to research, half of all people diagnosed with cancer will now survive. This is why funding for cancer research is so important. Some of the world’s leading cancer research is happening right here in the North West of England and North Wales. North West Cancer Research works in partnership with some of the country’s top research centres based at the University of Liverpool, Lancaster University and Bangor University. Our researchers are making vital progress into our understanding of cancer, how to detect, prevent and treat it, benefitting patients in the North West, North Wales and beyond. We have committed to funding more than £12.3million worth of research over the next five years. To date our funding has helped facilitate clinical and laboratory research, looking at skin cancer, lung cancer, head and neck cancers and many, many more. It has helped facilitate the first ever clinical trial to look at the effective treatment of bowel cancer in Liverpool, and throughout Europe. It has allowed us to purchase state of the art equipment, such as a Quadrupole Mass Spectrometer at Bangor University which is vital for fundamental cancer research. This is just a small snapshot of the research we fund. We are only able to do so thanks to the strength of our supporters, who to date have helped us raise millions of pounds for cancer research. Thanks to their help, our researchers can help people affected by cancer today and in future generations to come. Our aim is simple: to fund the best medical research for local people in North West England and North Wales, to stop cancer sooner.

The Hope Centre is a charity that aids homelessness in Northampton. Homelessness is a big problem in the UK, especially in busy places like Northampton. We have a day centre in which the homeless can come in and get clean clothes, a shower and breakfast and lunch. We also have different activities on different days, for example getting haircuts or Art, creative writing, Maths, English and IT classes. The individuals are also able to do employability and communications courses, as well as a first aid in the workplace course. We also do all sorts of events such as bike rides, sleeping rough for a night, charity runs and many more. However, we would like to branch out further and do more events in order to raise more money.

Northern Ireland Hospice is the leading provider of palliative care throughout Northern Ireland. This year we will care for over 4,000 babies, children, and adults with life-limiting and life-threatening illnesses. Our services deliver specialist end of life care, care at home, supported short breaks and specialist symptom management, both in our dedicated purpose-built hospices and in our local communities, in a patient's own home. 90% of Hospice care is delivered in communities across Northern Ireland. We help people to live and die well, in comfort, surrounded by those most important to them. Government partially fund Hospice, so we rely heavily on the goodwill and generosity of local people to deliver our much-needed support.

Northumbria Healthcare’s Bright charity funds those things that the NHS does not, including better facilities for patients and their families alongside support for staff to enable them to provide the best possible care. It also has a fantastic, innovative partnership with Tanzania's Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Centre.

Northwood African Education Foundation (NAEF) charity was established in 2011. The charity’s aim was to build and run a completely free school for orphans and the most vulnerable children in Gondar, Ethiopia. Named after St. George the patron saint of both Ethiopia and England, St. George’s School now has over 400 children attending with our aim to keep both boys and girls in education to 18 with a higher than average number progressing to university. We wish to inspire real and long term change and act as a beacon of education across Ethiopia. We have also embarked on new programmes to demonstrate our potential to be a force for good across the local community, supporting jobs, promoting health and wellbeing and sharing facilities with other local schools. We work closely with the Ethiopian government and the local community to build strong relationships that will ensure the sustainability and the success of the school in the long term. More than 50 local staff, both academic and ancillary are currently employed at St. George’s a number that is set to grow as the school does.

Nottingham Hospitals Charity raises money to support the extraordinary patients, families and staff at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust which includes The Queen's Medical Centre, City Hospital, Nottingham Children's Hospital and Ropewalk House.

Nottinghamshire Hospice provides hogh quality palliative care to adults in Nottinghamshire living with a life limiting illness, and provides respite and support to their carers. 1. Day therapy – coming to terms with a terminal diagnosis can be very hard, especially if you live alone or with a partner who is struggling to cope. We provide the only dedicated unit in Nottinghamshire for people with a terminal diagnosis. Every day, up to 35 people attend, giving carers a much needed break. Our palliative care nurses, backed by a team of doctors, physiotherapists, counsellors, complimentary therapists, and volunteers, provide physical symptom and pain management, emotional support and, perhaps most important for all of those living alone, companionship. 2. Hospice at home – our team of palliative care nurses help a patient and their family to define what a ‘good death’ means for them. For the vast majority, it means dying at home, as free from pain as possible, with their family close by. We provide calm, compassionate and caring support from referral to death, managing pain and giving over-worked carers a break. 3. Counselling and Bereavement Support – as most people want to die at home, this can place an enormous strain on family carers. Often the carer must cope with the emotional strain of grief for their terminally-ill loved one. With the focus of the medical profession on the patient, the needs of the carer can be forgotten. We provide pre and post-bereavement support for people across the whole of Nottinghamshire who have experienced a bereavement - they do not have to have previously been involved with Nottinghamshire Hospice.

Abuse ruins childhood, but it can be prevented. That’s why we’re here. That’s what drives all our work, and that’s why – as long as there’s abuse – we will fight for every childhood. We help children rebuild their lives, and we find ways to prevent abuse from ruining any more. So when a child needs a helping hand, we’ll be there. When parents are finding it tough, we’ll help. When laws need to change, or governments need to do more, we won’t give up until things improve. Abuse changes childhood. But so can we.

Nubian Jak Community Trust is an unfunded charity and the largest diversity plaques and statues scheme in the world. It is approved by English Heritage and endorsed by the Runnymede Trust as a ‘Real Histories’ provider. The trust has delivered several high profiled events in partnership with several London Borough Councils, including installing what is considered to be Britain’s highest profiled commemorative plaque - Ignatius Sancho - on Her Majesty’s Foreign and Commonwealth Office in Whitehall. The trust promotes diversity and inclusion for public benefit by the elimination of discrimination on the grounds of race; advancing education; raising African heritage awareness; and providing activities to foster appreciation between people from diverse backgrounds - most of whom have been omitted from historic recognition. Through donations and sponsorship we have delivered 60 plaques and 1 statue in the UK. We are currently in the process of crowdfunding for the Windrush and Commonwealth Nurses and Midwives Initiative which includes the installation of a 7ft x 7ft statue weighing over 5 tonnes; and publication of a book 'Nursing a Nation'. We are looking to commemorate and celebrate retired nurses at the launch of the book; which together with the unveiling of the statue is taking place on 5 July this year!

As a leading voice in the care sector, we look to improve health, life chances, quality of life, and levels of achievement while reducing poverty and increasing safety for all.

Between Friday 7th March 2025 and Thursday 13th March 2025, two intrepid adventurers will be joining a team of six others from across the built environment to take on The Arctic Challenge 2025 to raise money for The O'Brien Charitable Trust. This challenge is completely different to everything you know. Our adventurers will live an Arctic wilderness lifestyle, without electricity, running water or a flushing toilet. They will drive a team of loyal huskies through the snow-covered forests of Swedish Lapland in freezing temperatures. Experiencing the silence of nature as they glide through this winter wonderland, while taking the opportunity to spot elk, moose, and reindeer with the potential to see the spectacular Northern Lights. The adventure begins in Kiruna, Sweden’s northernmost city, situated 145kms north of the Arctic Circle. The region is home to the Sami people, and the adventurers will learn about their culture including spending the night in a Sami tee pee.

We exist to reignite a hope and a future for everyone facing homelessness. We believe in prevention and intervention. Our four cornerstones of support address both the immediate needs and root causes of homelessness.

For over 25 years OCD Action has been delivering frontline services which make a tangible and long-term difference to the lives of people with OCD, their families, carers and friends. OCD Action has a vision of a time when OCD is well understood and everyone gets the treatment and the support they need, when they need it. With the OCD community, we are fighting for this.

OcuMel UK support people with a rare cancer, ocular melanoma. It can affect someone's vision but is terminal for half of the people diagnosed with this condition.

Odyssey is a unique organisation which enhances the quality of life for people with cancer through programmes of adventure based mainly in the outdoors. Using the stimulation of challenge and surprise, Odyssey takes participants on a five-day journey aimed at combating the psychological and emotional devastation caused by their illness. Courses are fully residential and free of charge to participants.

The OPA has led the fight against oesophageal and gastric cancers for over 30 years. Our purpose is to support patients, their families and carers and raise awareness of these cancers and their prevention.

Old Coulsdon Colts FC, a registered charity, is a village football club enabling boys and girls to play football from the age of 6 until 18. The club has been established since 1979 and has developed from having 1 team to currently running 15 teams of all ages, providing a secure and safe environment for children to be coached ( all coaches are qualified ) and participate in playing football matches. OCCFC is run by volunteers giving their time and effort without any financial remuneration. The club is funded by annual subs from members and various fund raising activities which are essential to the survival of the club. Due to the situation in 2020 with Covid-19 virus, it has not been possible for any fund raising activities which are the financial lifeline for the club. These functions enable the club to keep the costs of annual subs at a reasonable level, affordable to all. The club is an integral part of the local community providing a safe environment for children to play football and socialise with other children. The Ollie Young Foundation is a registered charity which funds targeted paediatric brain tumour research and support. It was launched in memory of the brave little boy who lost his fight against an incurable brain tumour one day before his sixth birthday and only twelve weeks after first displaying symptoms. There was no available treatment for Ollie, no cure and no hope.

n the UK the charity's activities include helping the homeless and those adversely affected by the COVID-19 Pandemic by providing packages of food similar to those that will be distributed abroad. We will also be working alongside with our charity partners on projects abroad wherever there is need. Our projects vary from food parcels, orphan sponsorship programs and also providing clean water.

Children's bereavement charity

One Can Trust provides weekly emergency food parcels to anyone in need across South Bucks. We also signpost to other support services, run two toddler groups, a clothes bank, provide cookery classes and the opportunity for anyone in the local community who is struggling to have a free hot meal and a listening ear twice a month at the Hills Cafe in Micklefield.

The One to One Project (charity no. 801096) was originally set up to help disadvantaged immigrant families in Israel. Over the years, as well as financial aid to alleviate poverty, we provide medicines, equipment and treatment for the sick and disabled. We also fund specialist counseling for children and families who have been traumatized by war and domestic violence, and supply vital educational materials and equipment. Keeping children safe and off the streets is an integral part of the work of the charity. One to One have set up safe havens, taking children off the streets away from prostitution and drug abuse. As these needs have increased, One to One are opening more centres and cycling clubs to give the children much needed after-school activities.
