This spectacular high-altitude trek is not for the faint-hearted as it is physically demanding and culminates at 3,750m (12,303ft) above sea level, by one of the highest active volcanoes in the world.
You will feel exhausted but elated as you gaze out with exceptional views over the Andes once you complete the final footsteps by Mt. Cotopaxi. The trek is at high altitude, which means the levels of oxygen are much thinner than at sea level and acclimatization is vital.
The challenge will begin in Ecuador’s capital Quito, giving the group time to feel comfortable with their surroundings before venturing off on the challenge of a lifetime. This action-packed itinerary takes you through the countryside, past local communities and treks across numerous volcanoes. Your ultimate destination is Tambopaxi, the mountain lodge on the majestic Mt. Cotopaxi plateau.
