How to fund your challenge

This page provides you details of the costs of your challenge.

The costs below are per person.

MINIMUM SPONSORSHIP OPTION

You will be required to pay the non-refundable registration fee of £725.00 at the time of booking and raise a minimum amount of sponsorship for Shalva:

  • £8,500 (UK Climbers – Based on flights from London)
  • ₪35,000 (Israeli Climbers – Based on flights from Tel Aviv)
  • $18,000 (Canadian Climbers – Based on flights from Toronto)
  • $15,000 (US Climbers – Based on flights from New York)

You should send your sponsorship money to your local Shalva office as you raise it.

At least 80% of the minimum sponsorship required must be sent to the charity 12 weeks before departure (by 27 October 2024), and the remaining 20% within 4 weeks of completing the challenge (by 28 February 2025).

If you have raised the necessary funds,  Shalva will then pay the balance of your expedition costs.

The charity benefits by keeping the remaining sponsorship money and every pound/shekel/dollar over and above that you raise.

TRAVEL INSURANCE

It is a Charity Challenge booking condition that you have a suitable travel insurance policy, which covers the adventurous nature of these challenges, the activities you are undertaking, and the altitudes you are reaching. Always declare any and all pre-existing medical conditions when asked, to ensure you have full protection should you need to make a claim in the future.

Please ensure the insurance you arrange is appropriate for your requirements and covers all elements of your challenge.

IF YOU ARE A EUROPEAN PARTICIPANT

Charity Challenge has chosen to partner with specialist travel insurance providers Campbell Irvine. They can arrange cover for an extensive number of activities, such as high-altitude trekking and cycling events, which include emergency medical treatment and repatriation expenses, and will cover most European participants.

We advise you to look at the annual multi-trip policy which can also cover other family members on the same policy for the whole year, as this may work out to be much more cost effective, if you travel more than once in a year.

Once you have organised your travel insurance, either through our recommended provider or your own insurance, please complete the waiver in your account area.

To arrange cover online or obtain a quote, click on the BUY INSURANCE button below.

Charity Challenge is an Introducer Appointed Representative of Campbell Irvine Ltd who are authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.

IF YOU RESIDE OUTSIDE OF EUROPE

We are aware that a number of our participants from outside of Europe have used a company called World Nomads for their insurance cover and have spoken highly of them. We do not specifically endorse the company as we have not vetted them, so please do your own due diligence on the cover provided and policy exclusions.
