The excitement begins on the Friday evening before you Race the Sun on Saturday. Teams meet at 6pm, you’ll then have a compulsory briefing at 7pm, where the challenge is explained in full and you have the chance to ask any questions you may have. Then it’s to bed for a good rest before your early start tomorrow.
Rise at the crack of dawn for a three-activity team challenge. You'll start the day with a breakfast of porridge, pastries before heading out to your challenge! The challenge then starts early with a 88km cycle through the lush, green countryside of the South Wales.
Following the country lanes, you will then begin the ascent on to the ridgeline of the Brecons. It's a good footpath but one that is slightly less well hiked compared to the main route of the traditional Brecons Ways. Once the ridgeline is reached, the route follows the Brecons Way to the summit of Pen Y Fan (886m).
Time to start your last stretch: a 2km canoe. Paddling in two person canoes, you’ll complete a loop on Llangorse lake before gettig back on your bikes for the final short section back to Talybont-on-Usk.
Lunch, water and snack stops are provided throughout the day.
