Day 1, Fri 03 Nov 2023

International departure from London

Your journey begins at the airport where you’ll meet your fellow teammates. Last minute nerves will morph into excitement as you touch down in Marrakech, a magical city of snake charmers, fascinating architecture and bustling markets. On arrival meet your local guide to transfer you to the hotel. Once settled in, dinner is served followed by a thorough briefing about the challenge ahead. (D)

Day 2, Sat 04 Nov 2023

Drive to Demnate (130km / 2 hours), then cycle to Abachkou 1685m (approx. 33km / 5 hours)

Transfer by car to the east of Marrakech, the landscape quickly changes on the first day as you head towards Demante, nestled at the foot of the Atlas Mountains. From here, you will then get to jump into the saddle for the first time. After a short climb, you will descend to the Ait Toutline valley, to the beginning of the Tirsal gorges. After lunch, you continue mountain biking via Tarbat n'Tirsal and climb to the Tizi n'Tirghiste pass before descending by the paved road to the village of Abachkou. (B,L,D)

Day 3, Sun 05 Nov 2023

Abachkou to Bougumez (Ikhef Nighir) 1880m (approx. 27km / 4 hours)

Start the morning off with a paved road following the lush green Ait Boualli valley & Ait Bougmez valley, also known as the Happy Valley. From here you will leave the paved road and follow the dirt tracks along the fields to the village of Aguerd n'Ouzrou. Along the route you will see how the locals farm and grow produce. After lunch, you will have an opportunity to walk to the Marabout (shrine) of Sidi Moussa. After visiting the site, you will hop back onto your bike to the village of IKhef Nighir, your home for the night. (B,L,D)

Day 4, Mon 06 Nov 2023

Bougumez to Boutaghrar via Tizi n’Ait Imi 2900m & Tizi n’ait Hamd Pass 3100m (Vehicle Transfer - 25km/30min Bike - approx. 60km/6 hours)

Today is for the mountains! Transfer by car to the Tizi n'Ait Imi pass (2900m). From here, you will begin your day's cycling through the valley to Aflafal before attacking the hard climb to the Tizi n'Ait Hamd pass (3100m). You will then enjoy the descent towards the valley and passing the villages of Amejgag, Ameskar and Alemdoun to finally arrive at the hotel in the village of Boutaghrar. (B,L,D)

Day 5, Tue 07 Nov 2023

Boutaghrar to Dades Valley 1550m (Vehicle transfer 20km/30min / Bike approx. 43km/5 hours)

After a good nights rest, you will leave the hotel on bike following the paved road to the village of Znague. From here the terrain will change to dirt tracks to reach the Mgoun valley, crossing the river at the village of Igherm Akdim, before climbing to the desert plateau and continuing by tracks to reach the Dades Valley. Your day will finish with a short transfer to the hotel. (B,L,D)

Day 6, Wed 08 Nov 2023

Dades to Todgha 1500m (Vehicle transfer 30km/40min / Bike approx. 65km/6 hours)

Prepare yourself for your final day of stunning landscapes and spectacular gorges! Your day will begin with a short transfer to the Dades gorges, then you will get your bikes to start the route to Todgha through a maze of gorges and passes. (B,L,D)

Day 7, Thu 09 Nov 2023

Todgha to Marrakech (Vehicle transfer - 380km / 6 hours)

Today you will transfer by car via the city of Tinghir and the Dades Valley to Ait Benhaddou. Here you will be able to visit the world heritage Kasbah and continue along the Ounila Valley and over the Tichka Pass to get back to Marrakech in the afternoon. This evening, you will have the chance to celebrate your courageous achievements over dinner. (B,L,D)

Day 8, Fri 10 Nov 2023

Return to UK

Before heading home, there's some free time to explore the city and partake in some last minute souvenir shopping in the frenzied souks of Marrakech. In the early afternoon, it will be time to head to the airport for your flight home to London. (B)
