Your challenge day by day

Day 1, Sat 06 Sep 2025

The challenge day!

It will be an early start for registration and a safety briefing with your leaders for the day!

Starting from the town of Ambleside, we'll begin our challenge with an ascent up to Red Screes. From here we descend a short way and head westwards towards the distinctive mountain of Fairfield, ticking off peaks as we go. After summiting Fairfield - the highest summit of the challenge at 873m - we'll descend back down into Ambleside, collecting our last 2 summits along the way before celebrating at the finish line with a view of our iconic mountain challenge.

On this 10 peaks challenge you will aim to summit the following peaks:

1. Snarker Pike

2. Raven Crag

3. Red Screes

4. Little Hart Crag

5. Dove Crag

6. Hart Crag

7. Scrubby Crag

8. Fairfield

9. Great Rigg

10. Heron Pike

Please Note: The exact order that you will attempt each of the peaks will be determined by your mountain leaders on the day. It will be determined by weather and the groups walking speed. A packed lunch will be included.

Important information

Please note that the finishing time may vary so make sure you have booked an open ticket if travelling by train. You may want to book accommodation for after the train in case you miss your train or to avoid travelling/driving home when tired.

This itinerary is there as a guide and may change due to unusual weather patterns, the strength of the group and so on. We will do our very best to keep to the set itinerary; however we cannot be held responsible for any last minute changes that might occur. In all such circumstances, your expedition leader will have the final say.
