Day 1, Fri 26 Jun 2026

Challenge day!

We’ll meet in Swanage for registration and the safety briefing with your leaders.

Those doing the 35km trek will meet for 7am. Those doing the 20km trek will meet later in the day.

After a short coach transfer, the 35km trekkers will start by the dramatic ruins of Corfe Castle. We'll head out over fields and woodland to summit the highest point on the Isle of Purbeck – Swyre Head (203m). After enjoying stunning 360 views across the coast and Dorset, we'll head down past the thatched cottages of Kimmeridge and its rocky bay, famous for fossils and marine life. The views keep coming as we continue along the South West Coast Path to the dramatic clifftops at St Aldheim’s Head, where the 20km trekkers will join us, having begun their trek in Langton Matravers. We'll continue along the coast, enjoying views out to sea as we pass the 19th century Anvil Point Lighthouse and walk through the parkland of Durlston Castle. Finally, we'll descend into the Victorian seaside resort of Swanage, where we'll celebrate our achievements over a celebration drink.

Distance: 35km or 20km
