In 2013 we won the award for our ongoing support for charities both large and small, enabling them to raise vital funds for their causes through our portfolio of challenges.

This support included the free marketing support (brochures, posters, newsletters, films, charity branded web pages, images, slide shows, presentations, webinars) and strategy workshops helping charities identify which audiences to target and how.inst of fundraising 1

In 2014, we were nominated for the award by one of our clients, who raised over £1m on a series of our challenge events. Their nomination was summarised as follows:

“A supplier can quote for a specific challenge and operate it as requested. A partner will help you evaluate your end goals and put a plan together to help you achieve that goal. A partner will question you on your choices and give alternative ideas if they feel they can help. A partner will be looking at the long term objectives and growth opportunities, and recommend new ways of doing things. A true partner would add real value, and this is what Charity Challenge does. They consistently add significant value to our fundraising programme.”

The Institute of Fundraising is the UK’s largest individual representative body in the voluntary sector, working with its members and organisation’s to improve policy and support for fundraising.

The Awards are a chance to celebrate the achievements in the sector over the last year and at Charity Challenge we are proud to be shortlisted for our industry leading focus on safety.

For 15 years we have focused on driving the industry forward through focusing on innovation, service and quality. With any challenge there is an associated element of risk, particularly in the more remote destinations and at high altitude, wherechallengesafe medical attention can be hours away. Safety is therefore our priority and paramount to everything we do.

We created and implemented Challenge Safe in 2013. Over the past year we have really raised our game with pre-expedition planning, advanced risk and threat assessments, emergency management planning and leader training.

We have also established standard operating procedures for every asiof2pect of our challenges from hotels to wild camping, coaches to ferry crossings and trekking to bike riding.

Our Challenge Safe initiative is concerned with the practical measures for raising the standards of safety. This system not only dictates how we operate as a company, but how every supplier, leader, doctor and contractor on our challenges should behave too. Most importantly, it is about raising the profile of safety with supplier management in developing countries so that real change can be achieved, because without safety there is no quality.

The winners are to be announced on the 29th January 2015. Tweet us @charitychall #pifas15
